History of The Huguenot Society of North Carolina

The Huguenot Society of North Carolina was organized October 17, 1938 in Raleigh, North Carolina as a branch of the Huguenot Society of the Founders of Manakin in the Colony of Virginia. It was reorganized December 4, 1946 at which time the Society became a member society of The Federation of Huguenot Societies in America.

The National Huguenot Society had its beginning in 1931 when several Huguenot organizations having common Huguenot interest formed The Federation of Huguenot Societies in America. On April 12, 1951, The Federation officially changed its name to The National Huguenot Society.
